Victoria Cator

This glamorous collection of hand-poured candles and home fragrances is inspired by the scents that kept founder Victoria Cator grounded during a nomadic upbringing. "My childhood was peripatetic because of my father’s career in the army, but the continuity of smell that was created wherever we lived gave me the security of being home,” she says. After living in Hong Kong and New York and working in fashion, retail and government, Cator opened an interior decorating firm in London and co-wrote a cookbook before launching her eponymous line in 2016. With sustainability as a pillar and dreamy home scents as a goal, the UK-made line offers vegan wax, cotton wicks, and packaging made using recyclable and biodegradable materials. Its double-wick standouts include Madame Julia, a mix of blackcurrant, rose and ambergris; Casablanca, a green yet sultry white floral; and Cuir Sacré, a velvety, rich leather.

"Victoria says her favorite smells include new shoes in a box, Pepto Bismol and wood smoke, so it's no surprise that her candles deliver on personality and layered notes that complement a room. I picture them atop coffee tables stacked with fashion books or next to a very well-stocked bar." - Jamie Rosen, Wellbeing Editor
