Kansai Noguchi started his namesake pottery studio in Tama City, Tokyo in 2016. Influenced by Isamu Noguchi, Kansai approached the connection between archaic culture and modernity to create his first collection. His practice now takes a more classical and modern approach that combines the beauty of Japan with shapes inspired by ancient Greece and Jomon pottery. Using different glazes that continue to be independently researched, he creates new possibilities for ceramics and a more contemporary view on Japanese culture.
